Louis Theroux is a genre-defining documentary filmmaker and presenter, renowned for creating deeply immersive and empathetic programmes that explore the complex, often contentious facets of human behaviour and society.
Over the course of his career, Louis has created and fronted some of the most critically acclaimed documentaries in British broadcasting. His work includes the BAFTA-winning series Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends and When Louis Met…, as well as acclaimed specials such as The Most Hated Family in America, Miami Mega Jail, Altered States, and the feature-length documentary My Scientology Movie.
In his BBC series Louis Theroux Interviews, he brought his trademark style to the often-enigmatic world of celebrity, securing exclusive and unexpectedly candid access to some of the most iconic and notoriously private figures in entertainment. Most recently, the Louis Theroux Podcast has allowed him to have intimate conversations with a wide range of guests he admires, producing discussions that are surprising, insightful, challenging, and often humorous.
Louis has won multiple awards, including three BAFTAs, an RTS Award, and the 2016 Grierson Trustees’ Award. He is also co-founder of the independent production company Mindhouse, alongside Arron Fellows and Nancy Strang.
