Rachel Riley MBE is the UK’s most recognisable mathematical mind on television - a broadcaster celebrated for making mathematics accessible, engaging, and genuinely entertaining for audiences of all ages.

Best known as the Numbers Expert on Countdown on Channel 4, and as a resident team member on the hit comedy series 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Rachel has built a career spanning television, publishing, sport, and education. She has also hosted The Gadget Show on Channel 5, presented It's Not Rocket Science, and appeared as a guest host on Scala Radio.

A passionate advocate for mathematics and STEM education, Rachel has championed National Numeracy initiatives and is particularly committed to inspiring young people, especially girls, to engage with science, technology, engineering, and maths. She is involved with Premier League Primary Stars and serves as a Global Ambassador for Grassroot Soccer, both of which harness the power of football to promote education, skills, and ambition in young people. Her first book, At Sixes and Sevens, a quirky and accessible guide to improving adults’ maths skills, was inspired by parents who reached out during lockdown while struggling with home schooling.

An avid Manchester United F.C. supporter, Rachel has also presented Fantasy Football Club and Friday Night Football on Sky Sports and has made guest appearances across a wide range of sports programming.

In recent years, Rachel has emerged as a powerful and courageous voice in the campaign against antisemitism, after being targeted herself on social media. Her speech at the Holocaust Educational Trust in Parliament was subsequently published in The Times, and in 2023 she was awarded an MBE for services to Holocaust education and antisemitism awareness.

An experienced and highly regarded live presenter, Rachel brings energy, warmth, and genuine expertise to every engagement. She is available for fireside conversations, conference hosting, panel facilitation, awards ceremonies, and specialist maths and STEM events.

Testimonials

Rachel was fab! Had such a great time with her, she did a brilliant job.
Mercedez-Benx Cars Celebration
It was amazing! Everything went to plan and Rachel was an amazing asset to the evening! She completely took ownership and helped where our knowledge was lacking in certain areas of the event. We had both staff and clients saying how down to earth and easy to talk to she was. We cant wait to book her again for next year!
Citrus Group Launch Event
We certainly gave Rachel a few tricky names and some in-depth topics to navigate, which she did with ease, keeping us well on course and the audience buoyed. It was a pleasure to have Rachel with us!
Introduction Course in Emeralds, Rubies & Sapphires
Rachel Riley is an absolute delight to work with and once again she went the extra mile interacting with the guests both before and after the main presentations.
Women In Rail Conference
We were really pleased, it all went very well! Please pass our thanks on to Rachel for being very patient and willing with our delegates – I think everyone that wanted one got a photo!
